Update 2.2.0 is live on iOS and Android!

Update 2.2.0 has arrived for both platforms and gives high-level players a chance to become Legendary! Here's a look at what's new:



  • Legend Mode: high level players now have the option to reset their progress and items in order to acquire exclusive, permanent perks. Legend Mode is optional, and choosing to gain a Legend Level will reset gold, gear and progress. Key Items and Epic Coins will not be affected;
  • Perks: gain Perk Points to spend on unique improvements that carry over when you acquire new Legend Levels;
  • New-Look Gold Shop: the Gold Shop features a brand new look, with easier access to gold and new items, and greater flexibility for special items and sales
  • Adjusted stats on Cracked Orb, Sorcerer's Orb and Ivory Staff for game balance purposes

    1. If you use an Apple device, you may potentially have options for doing that. If you're on Android, we unfortunately don't have a Cloud save alternative yet; all the information is stored locally.

      If you *are* using an Apple device, make sure the old device is running the current version of the game and that you play with the character you wish to backup until you die and the game completes. The completed game should be backed up to iCloud if you're online and have the account signed in.

      On the new device, ensure the same iCloud account is linked, then choose "Sync" in the settings menu. You should see a message letting you know which data will be restored. If it matches, go ahead and sync, and you should be good to go.

  2. I recently picked this game back up, i quit when i was level 70+ due to how repetitive it was, but have returned.
    But there is an issue
    I have started from scratch (Good) and am at level 29 at the time of writing this.
    The issue is that i still do not have access to the spell store and the potion store. Please help or i will be stuck with level one magic missile :...(.
    But i do have to say, i like the improvements

    1. We think we've got a fix in place for this. Android version should be available shortly if not already. We're working on getting a fix expedited by the Apple team on the iOS side.

  3. Hi, I got really far in this game on my phone. I recently downloaded it ona new iPad and started playing from the start. I know all the requirements to unlock the world map and it didn't unlock. I beat the bat boss and kept playing classic mode. I am now level 10 and I decided to reset. After resetting the app and redownloading it, i did the same thing. No world map. What's going on? It worked on my phone and on my brother's iPad. Do you know how I can fix this error? Thank you.

    1. You unlock the world map in stage 2... Maybe 3 as a key item. This is in classic mode btw

    3. Hey, Gendolf. When we moved Story Mode back to a selectable game mode, we also shifted the event for finding the World Map back into Gloom Caverns. You *should* find that item very early on in that stage, now. We felt by pushing players into the World Map so early on, we were damaging the core Dash Quest experience, and made the decision to delay it as a result. Hope that helps!

  5. I've reached level 73 and have yet to encounter a rare monster..is it really that rare?

    1. They are, in fact, TOO rare at present, Andrew. Something with the spawner looks to have gotten messed up when we pushed last. We'll be looking at a fix for next update.

    1. Thanks for passing it along, Johnny. We completely changed all of our collider behaviour over the past couple of weeks, which meant that a number of objects in the game had to be manually repositioned. That's why we're seeing stuff along these lines here and there. We've had a few players reach out about some specifically egregious instances of this and are working on some adjustments for next update.

  8. I have one small question. the sneak attack only occurs when you dodge attack from enemy or when it occur, i dodge one attack and hurt one enemy?

    Btw, the gold and epic coins drop from bosses seem to be abnormally little.

  11. Did you guys ninja nerf the Overcharge perk? It's doing a lot less damage now. It was great for the early levels of grinding (1-50) but now it just stinks. If you guys are changing perks please include a way to respec perks.

    1. We did not, no. Perk respec is a very good suggestion, particularly if we do make changes, but so far we haven't touched any of them since the feature launched. Can you provide any further info about Overcharge? Do you have actual numbers, or is more just anecdotal experience from playing? When did you notice the damage drop off?

    2. Overcharge use to deal damage as long as you held it down. Now it will only deal damage for me WHILE it's charging (aka 1 hit per shot).

Overcharge was definitely intended to do AOE damage while charging; the projectile damage shouldn't have been affected either way. May have been a collider issue on the game object... am I understanding the situation correctly?

  12. When will the issue with rare monsters be resolved I need pet orbs lol and also everytime i use a tasty bait a Dragon spawns assuming this is a bug, great game by the way can't wait for more updates my I sugest maybe like daily and weekly quests

  14. When does the daily bonus reset? I've been playing daily but besides the first day of update, I haven't seen any bonus. And despite playing every day, I've still never got the achievement for logging in 5 days straight.

    1. Daily bonus should roll over approximately 22 hours from the first tracked login on a given day. As long as you're back no more than 48 hours from that initial login, it should track.

      The achievement hasn't been tracking properly since we launched it, and we've repurposed the daily login code to try and help fix it.

    2. I still can't seem to find any indicator that it's tracking my consecutive logged days. My Wanderer's Wealth icon has been purple for weeks despite daily playing and my achievement seems to be stuck at 80% for logging in 5 consecutive days.

    3. Hey again, Chris. I actually got the achievement myself, finally, before the weekend, but I'd noticed that the achievement "tracker" didn't track it; it was just suddenly complete. We'll continue to look at that. Wanderer's Wealth should be purple at its highest level, so that's in order.

  15. While I'm here, I'd also like to make another suggestion. As it is, I don't particularly feel stronger each time I Legend. Most games with a prestige feature really makes you feel like you're starting fresh as a much stronger version of your former self. I think part of this is due to the lack of resources when starting over. I'd suggest Perks that require 2 or 3 points. One should increase exp gain (maybe 3 points x10 at +10% gain per level for a max of +100% exp) and another to retain gold earned (3 points per level x10 for a maximum of starting fresh with 100% of gold earned)

    1. William, I have a couple of suggestions of things to check. Firstly, the game will require a network connection (mobile or wi-fi) to check against our server in order to establish your first log in. From there, the daily login should pop up if you log in at any point after 22 hours have passed, but before 48 hours have elapsed. I don't know that it would impact it, but you may wish to check to ensure your device is set to get network time automatically, as well.

    1. Asking a potentially stupid question, too, William, but you've updated to version 2.2.2, as well? Daily login was introduced there, as was the potential fix for the achievement. If you've updated, it may still take a few days for the achievement to pop since it wasn't tracking properly before, and you may not see it update on the achievement tracker.

  22. Same here William, I had the popup come up once but never seen it since, the daily play bonus doesnt stack and I do not get a login bonus either. I play every day, well within 22 hours apart and my phone is set to get local time automatically.

    I made some strong comments previously regarding the update to Legend mode which i would like to retract - the improvements have taken the game to another level.

    BUT, DQStaff please please please create some official forums for this game. Have one place we can get update info and chat as a community of players rather than use reddit. I think it would help ten fold with game development and would build a solid community of loyal players and help attract new players.

    Ignore my immature post name, I have ran online games/communities before and am adamant this will take DQ to another level.

    1. Robbie, glad to hear you've come around on Legend Mode. No need to retract anything; feedback is always valuable and we always want to hear the good and bad reactions. It was *constructive*, and that's key. If I can ask, what changed your feelings about it?

      Thanks for the additional information about the daily login (you as well, William). Things seem to be working okay on our test devices, as well as our own, but we'll investigate. Robbie, are you on iOS or Android? Are you able to confirm the device type?

      As per the forums: yes, yes, a thousand times yes. We very much wish to set up forums not just for DQ, but for our studio and our other projects. We couldn't agree more. At this point it's been more a limitation of resources: someone to set it up, someone to moderate and make sure the community is being interacted with frequently, etc. We've got someone looking into that at present and hopefully we'll be able to talk more about that soon.

  27. I don't know what has changed but suddenly I'm getting the login events appearing. Earn extra gold per classic mode run....how odd....my counter still shows as 40% though on the play 5 days in a row achievement.

    1. I was stuck at 20%, personally, since the achievement was initially pushed, then had the achievement pop just before the weekend with an Alpha build of 2.2.2 installed on my phone. The meter never budged, and now it's complete. So I suspect the achievement is working now (based on tracking from the update on) but it still doesn't appear to track properly.

  28. I see the occasional log in event but have yet to see the consecutive daily log in bonuses except for immediately after the recent update. And like those above me, I play every 12-24 hours so unless the timer keeps resetting every time I play, I should have seen some daily bonuses

    2. I'm on Android too, Sony Xperia Z3 to be exact running Lollipop I believe and the 2.2.2 DQ update so everything is up to date on my end. If there was a cloud save option, I'd try reinstalling but as is, that would just result in losing all progress

    3. Wouldn't expect an uninstall/reinstall to help with that in any case, Chris. Do you use a Google Play account when you play DQ? My guess is the device isn't authenticating with the server for some reason.

      On a side note, we've been kicking the tires on Google cloud save options. Hopefully we'll have something to report there soon.

  29. PS - is there a schedule of events? I only ever seem to catch them on the tail end and most of the time there is no event running. That double experience was nice for the couple of runs I was able to manage to squeeze in though

    1. Glad you dig them, Chris! We've been experimenting off and on since we pushed 2.2.2, just to get a feel for where and when we may want to run them. We think the event calendar is a great idea, though; may try to do something a bit more structured during April to see how players respond.

  32. Didn't get a response to my old post so I'll start a new one. Again my Overcharge perk is doing no damage. I don't know if my device is messed up or its a bug with the current build it happened after a patch around 3/22/16. 50 wasted perk points =(

  33. I am also having issues with the login perk. I ask using an iPhone 6s+
    I have purchased the no ads option. I am wondering if this may be a possible cause. (Skipping the login check as part of the ad code). I play several times a day for weeks now and a 0% still.

    Suggestion. The key items that improve with certain actions (trinket/coin/mark) rather than showing lv1 and max show something more representative. If you already do then I have other issues :P

  34. I've been playing this game since it was released on the App Store and it is really amazing but there are a few things I find annoying. This might just be my game but I never get the daily bonus although I play every day.

    If you watch ads for gold the pop up for how much gold you get ends up behind the screen.

    Some improvement ideas could be to put your experience bar in game while you are going through classic, story, etc. Even if this can be found by pressing pause.

    Though you probably won't do this it would be nice to be able to get more gold during the game.

  37. Well a few issues today first off i istalled the update today and the biggest problem is now all my progress is gone iam not too happy and may not continue playing as i was legend rank 7!!!!!Pet orbs not working again? And when i try to watch video for them it wont work

    1. Hey, William! We're tremendously sorry about your issues. We ran into some major problems with our Google Play framework post-update and it cascaded down to various players in a number of ways.

      We posted a few updates throughout the weekend to address many of these issues. Can you check the Google Play Store to see if you have any updates available? Please let us know if you're continuing to see the progress/data issues after the most recent release.

    1. Hey, David! We actually have a blog post in queue but the issues with the update derailed things. We'll get something up with more detail later today, but the short version is that you'll get an upgraded piece of each gear each time it's rewarded in the Dungeon.

      Saw you removed a post about some issues you were having, as well; can we assume one of the weekend updates got you sorted out? Would be glad to know if that's the case!

  43. Just read through this entire thread. Myself nor my brother have recieved the login bonus for 2 consecutive weeks. We have both android and iphone 5. We have the most recent update. And we literally play around the clock every day.

    1. Hey, Adrian! The most recent build of DQ (2.3.4) has Google cloud sync. You'd need your most recent game to have been completed on the old device, running 2.3.4. The data would be synced at the end of a run. At that point, you'd need to start the game on the new device, choose the settings icon from the title screen (top right corner), and choose "Sync Data". Obviously, the same Google account would need to be linked to both devices as well.
